Spay It Forward Tennessee

Keynote Speaker:
Esther Mechler, Founder and President of Spay USA, will introduce us to
the history of the Spay and Neuter movement in the US and profile the
highlights of successful statewide Spay and Neuter movements which have
shown measurable results.  Also, Ms. Mechler will talk about SPAY USA's
effort to expand its 1-800 spay and neuter hot line to individual states.

Maddie's Fund Spay/Neuter Grants

Maddie's Fund offers Targeted Spay/Neuter Grants to quickly reduce shelter
intake in communities with high euthanasia rates. The proposal should
focus on populations, locations or conditions that lead to high shelter
impounds and euthanasia. Grant size is up to a maximum of $200,000 over
two years. The lead agency can be a 501(c)3 animal welfare organization, a
municipal animal control agency, or a veterinary medical association.
Surgeries can be performed in non-profit spay/neuter clinics, governmental
spay/neuter clinics or private veterinary hospitals.

The State of Animal Welfare Funding and Introduction to The ARC:
Jill Moore, Executive Director of The Tennessee Animal Resource Center,
will speak on the state of funding for animal welfare in the US and highlight
new ways The ARC was designed help groups reach out for corporate and
local support.  Introduce The ARC’s "Gotta Spay to Play" program.
